We returned to Broome from Brisbane tonight, after about 8 hours flying time from Brisbane via Perth.
The taxi trip from the airport was interesting. We told the driver the street name where our car was stored and off he went, without a navigator or map on a best guess as to where the street was located. He was going to take us to the port, 4 km past where we wanted to go. Luckily our local knowledge saved us but we hate to think what happens to new arrivals not familiar with the town.
Tonights accommodation is the Broome motel which has seen better days but shower and bed are good.
We plan to shop, fill the car then depart Broome in the morning to start our long trek home.
