03 August - Kakadu (Yellow Waters cruise)

Today was a very early wake up at 4.45am so we could make our 6:30am breakfast cruise. Ofcourse we decided to leave brekky until we got to the cruise only to find on arrival that we weren’t going to be fed until after the cruise at 9am. Grumble, grumble....

The dawn over the wetlands was spectacular and we saw lots of birds (again), including jabirus, sea eagles, spotted things and striped things.

Sea Eagkes

The highlight was when Maree spotted a croc at the waters edge trying to devour a dead python. We watched the crocodile for about 20 minutes until he snapped the python snake in half then gulped it down.

Back at the cruise resort we helped ourselves to a very nice 'all you can eat' brekky. In the end we had to stop eating or bust.

The rest of the day was spent with a well deserved nana nap then a visit to the pool and then the bar.

  1. What spectacular photos, well done to the photographer, especially the one that got the croc shot.
